Farm & Horse watch members should be extra vigilant and report ALL suspicious activity to the police, following reports during the afternoon of Thursday 22nd October, of several different suspicious vehicles with males snooping around farm premises in the area.

Horse saddles and a circular saw were stolen from premises in Fairfield, Buxton, by males in a medium wheel base semi-high roof white Ford transit van with a very distinctive roof rack, a tow bar & wire hanging down from the door, displaying a registration number similar to KW55HK*. They then visited two nearby farms but sped off when sighted. Description: 3 males, aged 20-30's wearing body warmer type jackets and t-shirts.

A quad bike was stolen from a field on Maynestone Road, Chinley, between 1605-1645hrs, by males in a white transit van. The van also appeared to be followed by males in a red car.

Two males in a red car, displaying vehicle registration similar to R371HA* were also seen prowling around a farm in Earl Sterndale during the afternoon.

A yellow JCB Fastrac tractor was stolen from farm premises in Flagg overnight on 21st/22nd October.

Please be extra vigilant and report anyone seen in suspicious circumstances to the police on 0345 123 33 33.

Between 1000-1100hrs this morning, Monday 12th October, an 'N' registered Ifor Williams horsebox trailer was stolen from stables on Longridge Lane, Dove Holes.

This is the second horsebox trailer stolen this morning, as another was stolen from Calver at 0715hrs.

Anyone with information should call 0345 123 33 33 regarding crime number 59111/09.

At 715am on Monday 12th October, a 'P' registered blue Ifor Williams horsebox trailer was stolen from a public house car park at Low Side, Calver, Hope Valley. The offenders removed the crook-lock and towed the trailer away using a white van.

Anyone with information should call 0345 123 33 33 regarding crime number 59069/09.

Please report any suspicious activity to the police.

Overnight on 7/8th October, offenders entered farm premises in Bagshaw, Chapel-en-le-Frith, and stole two children's quad bikes and a petrol engine dirt buggy from insecure sheds. Please ensure that quad bikes and outbuildings are secure, as there has been an increase in the theft of quad bikes in the rural areas of Derbyshire and over the border in Staffordshire. Crime number: 58503/09.

If you witness any suspicious vehicles or persons in the area, then please call the police on 0345 123 33 33.

Residents should be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police on 0345 123 33 33, following these recent burglaries.

Overnight on 7/8th October, offender(s) forced entry to the tack room, stables, outbuilding and a garage at farm premises in Sparrowpit, Buxton. A chainsaw was stolen from the garage.

During the same period, outbuildings/farm sheds were broken into at a farm in Peak Forest, Buxton. Nothing stolen.

The High Peak hunt over stone-wall country, which lies around Bakewell and Buxton in Derbyshire. It consists of old pasture with some plough and very little wire.

We hunt within the law and continue to fight The Hunting Act.
